Add Echo to a post
Step 1 — Enter your post details
Auto-filled from your title. Just needs to be unique per post — it's how Echo groups responses, not a link back to Substack.
Step 2 — Copy your feedback link
Feedback page
Readers click this link, see the full Echo widget in a new tab, leave their reaction and optional feedback, then close the tab to return to your post.
Step 3 — Add to your Substack post
- At the end of your post, click + and add a Button block
- Label it something like "How did this post land? →"
- Paste the feedback link as the button URL
- Publish — readers click the button, share their reaction, and get a thank you
Advanced — individual reaction links
Use these if you want each reaction as a separate inline hyperlink in your post text instead of a single button.
